head 2 heart program
Head 2 Heart is our social justice and leadership training program. We partner with secondary schools to facilitate an overnight program for their students who act as 'big- buddies' to participants.
This leadership development program is aimed at senior students looking to positively impact their local community. Senior schools partner with us to offer the program for their students. We liaise with organisation partners to refer the children and host it at the school overnight from Friday to Saturday. We make use of the school facilities, and the comfort held by students who are familiar with the space. This allows students to concentrate on the task of mentoring and engaging with their buddy.

The program begins for students on a Friday afternoon*, straight after school, to begin their preparation, training and sessions to mission themselves as a team. The students then sleep overnight at the school, ready to be joined the next morning by the program participants. Students spend the Saturday engaging with the participants in games, songs and activities based around building resilience and connection. The program ends with a clean up, shared dinner and final debriefing session to decompress and make meaning of their experience.
