We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be running four of our brand-new GEM Programs this summer!!
GEM PROGRAM The GEM program, "Growing Eddie Memories", combines the most impactful moments of an Edmund Rice Camps program into a hybrid online/face-to-face engagement. It is hoped that the GEM Program will reduce the barriers of families and volunteers not being able to commit to a full 5-day residential program and meet COVID-19 regulations. The GEM program will begin with an online session for all participants and volunteers via Zoom. This slow and initial introduction via the online medium will support the development of relationships and provide a graduated introduction for those where social isolation has exacerbated social anxiety and where facilitated re-engagement is required. The GEM program will culminate in a face-to-face activity day where the volunteers and participants will come together to engage in a series of rotational activities designed to:
Support participants to move out of their comfort zone
Engage in play-based fun and in-the-moment experiences
Taking risks and developing risk-taking skills in a supportive environment
Create an environment where each person is accepted as they are
Being playful and silly
Developing trust to move out of their comfort zone into the growth zone
Provide an opportunity to be one’s authentic self and engage in genuine relationships
Development of team, family and community and building identity within those units
After the face-to-face activity day, all volunteers and participants will join together online to celebrate the connections they have made and crystallise their growth and learnings.
