In mid-June we made the difficult decision to cancel our scheduled Winter Kids Camp and Winter Family Camp due to the current COVID situation. Thank you to our volunteers, participants and referral agencies for being so understanding of the decision. After some easing of restrictions, along with incredible displays of flexibility and adaptability by our Camp Exec Teams and volunteers, we transformed our usual camp programs to our new GEM Programs!
Volunteers stayed at Amberley from Pre-Camp day until the end of camp, and were joined by some amazing participants for a series of jam-packed day-programs. These programs combined the "Gems" of our usual week-long camps, with intense relationship, confidence and resilience building across the day. All participants went home after reflecting on a brilliant day with our volunteers and the resulting learning and growth that occurred. See some photos of the programs below!
